Tomisaburō Wakui

Tomisaburō Wakui (Japanese: 涌井 富三郎) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. He is currently one of the oldest living men in Japan.

Biography

Tomisaburō Wakui was born in Japan on 28 November 1913. Reportedly, in his youth, he worked as a tuna seller at Tsukiji Uogashi in Tokyo, and tuna remains his favorite food even in his old age.

Recognition

On 14 September 2017, he received a special visit from the mayor of Atsugi City and a letter of congratulations to celebrate his status as the oldest living man in Atsugi City.

In September 2023, he was reported as the second-oldest living man in Kanagawa Prefecture, behind Shirō Yamazaki.

His age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yu Li and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 12 March 2024.
