Susie Gibson
Susan Elizabeth “Susie” Gibson (née Potts) was an American supercentenarian and the third-oldest person in the world at the time of her death after María Capovilla and Elizabeth Bolden.

Biography
Susie Gibson was born as Susan Elizabeth Potts in Corinth, Mississippi. She married James W. Gibson in 1915, and they moved to northwest Alabama, settling in Sheffield, Alabama. James died in 1955, and her only son, James Jr., died in 1987, at the age of 70.
Susie lived on her own until the age of 104, when she moved into a nursing home in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Susie Gibson died in the early hours of 16 February 2006, at the age of 115 years, 108 days.

In November 2004, Mrs. Gibson was interviewed at the age of 114. Over more than an hour, she recalled memories such as the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, or how horse-drawn carriages would get stuck in the mud.
Having reached the age of 115, Mrs. Gibson was older than many other supercentenarians who held the title of World’s Oldest Person. However, she ranked only third-oldest in the world at her time of death (having been fourth-oldest until the passing of Bettie Wilson three days prior) due to an “age bubble” at the time.
