Chiyono Hasegawa was a Japanese supercentenarian. Aged 115 years, 12 days at the time of her death, she was the oldest living validated person in Japan (since the death of Kama Chinen on 2 May 2010) and was also the oldest living validated person in Asia. She was the second-oldest validated living person in the world, behind American woman Besse Cooper. At the time of her death, Hasegawa was one of only 26 validated supercentenarians to have surpassed their 115th birthday, and the second-oldest Japanese person, behind Tane Ikai.
